NextEra Energy — the world’s largest producer of wind and solar energy, headquartered in Juno Beach, Florida operates 22+ GW of wind capacity across the US with ongoing expansion. Wind tower flange forgings, bearing ring forgings, and foundation structural forgings for NextEra’s wind farm development represent a sustained high-volume procurement opportunity for Indian ring rolling manufacturers.

NextEra procures wind turbines from GE Vernova, Vestas, and Siemens Gamesa — each OEM’s supply chain manages forging procurement for tower flanges and bearing rings. Indian forging manufacturers access NextEra’s procurement indirectly through these turbine OEM supply chains.
Volume: A typical NextEra 300 MW onshore wind farm uses approximately 75 turbines at 4 MW each approximately 900 ring-rolled forgings per project. NextEra develops 2–4 GW of new wind capacity annually, generating 13,500–27,000 individual ring-rolled forgings per year through turbine OEM supply chains.
IRA domestic content consideration: Projects not claiming the IRA domestic content bonus (taking the standard PTC instead) continue to source tower flanges and bearing rings internationally. Indian forging supply remains competitive for these projects.
